ABOUT VANU CAMPERS
WHO AM I & WHY VANU CAMPERS?
My name is Manu, and I’m the person behind Vanu Campers.
I had to get my first VW Bus – a 2012 T5 4Motion – because the monotony of my previous car was driving me insane. There was simply nothing to tinker with or improve. Back then, I was working full-time at a printing company while studying business administration at a night school.

My first classic T3/Vanagon?!
Totally got burned – what a fail.
I needed a break from desk at work and studies. I wanted to “get my hands dirty again.”
So in 2019, I bought a VW T3 Joker as a restoration project… and unknowingly brought home a proper pile of junk.
But I wasn’t ready to give up on the whole T3 idea – no way.
That’s when a long chain of vehicle inspections began, along with connecting to owners and enthusiasts – whether at VW bus meetups, parking lots, or through listings I found online.
Soon enough, another T3 found its way into my life – and that one sealed the deal. I was officially hooked on the third generation and camping trips in general.
While rebuilding that bus, I taught myself to wrench, weld, and restore parts in our garage. I also started trading parts and full vehicles – because I still needed to sell off my first disaster to make up for the losses.
Thanks to my previous work in IT, advertising, and photography, I had a real blast creating proper listings and connecting with grateful buyers.
Eventually, the hobby got too big for a residential neighborhood –
so I rented a small workshop space in the Eichsfeld region near Göttingen.
The timing was perfect: In early 2020, my girlfriend and I found out we were expecting a child. That was my cue to make a bold move – I quit my job, finished my degree that summer, and began laying the groundwork for Vanu Campers.
Since November 2020, we’ve been officially up and running – and constantly evolving.
The business years 2021 through 2024 were filled with mistakes, experiences, losses – and wins. Most importantly, they brought incredible new connections and deep friendships from all over the world that now feel like family.
Starting in 2025, we’re shifting gears – reducing our used parts trade and focusing on building Vanu Campers into a full-fledged brand for quality camping products.
